In January 2005, AAAE and IAAE introduced a new, focused certification program to benefit airport personnel at large and small aerodomes around
the world. Known as the International Airport Certified Employee (IACE) program, any IAAE member (with the exception of students) may obtain a
thorough and up-to-date ICAO- Annex 14 based education in the discipline of Airfield Operations. There are three other disciplines to follow in
the near future: Airfield Lighting Maintenance, Security and Communications. Those who pass a written exam will achieve the distinguished IACE designation.
